Does Vital Acupuncture & Massage sell Chinese Herbal Medicine?
Yes we do.
At Vital Acupuncture & Massage, each formula is tailor made for the specific requirements of each patient. That way you can be assured of getting exactly what you need.
Are Chinese herbs safe?
All Chinese herbs dispensed from Vital Acupuncture & Massage are high quality and meet the Australian Therapeutic Goods Authority standards.
Lucy Campbell is a nationally registered practitioner (through AHPRA) for acupuncture practice and the dispensing of Chinese herbs, which requires extensive training in both Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture.
Can anyone take Chinese herbs?
Almost anyone can use herbal formulas, but, like any medication, it is important to have a correct diagnosis before taking herbs. Herbal formulas, if prescribed according to diagnosis, are beneficial to take separately or in conjunction with an acupuncture treatment plan, as the herbs can enhance and continue the effects of the treatment between therapy sessions.
It is important to advise your practitioner if you are taking any other medications, particularly blood pressure or cardiac medications, prior to taking herbal formulas, as there may be interaction between these products. Please be aware, that although herbal formulas are not synthetic drugs, and are sourced from natural ingredients, they are still medications, and should always be taken correctly.
Do Chinese Herbs taste bad?
Sometimes some people find that some Chinese herbal formulas are too unpalatable to take but this is not all formulas. However we do provide the option of herbal capsules as well as granulated herbs.
Do Chinese formulas contain animal parts?
Some traditional Chinese herbal formulas did use animal parts when they were developed,
however, many herbal formulas are able to have the animal parts replaced by plant-based herbs. Our herbal suppliers ensure that the highest quality herbs are used in their formulas, which are sourced internationally.
Can I take Chinese herb formulas when I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
During pregnancy, especially during first trimester, all medications should be taken with utmost caution. While there are some formulas that are suitable, and in fact beneficial, to take during pregnancy and breastfeeding, it is important to advise your practitioner if you are pregnant, or trying to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, as there are other herbal formulas that are not suitable.
