Reflexology, Cupping, Moxibustion & Pulse Diagnosis
Pulse DiagnosisPulse Diagnosis is used in identifying the root causes of your health conditions. It detects patterns of ill health by reading the subtle signs of distress within the body.
The first mention of Pulse Diagnosis dates back over 2,000 years! Our acupuncturists can detect the way blood is flowing through the radial artery. Distinctions of this flow correlate with how blood is flowing through specific regions of the body, including the organs.
The pulse can reveal many common health concerns and how they are related to one another. The art of pulse diagnosis gives our practitioner the ability to assess the overall health and function of each organ system.

ReflexologyReflexology is an ancient tactile therapy based on the concept that areas in our feet, hands and ears correspond directly to certain organs and tissues in other parts of the body.
A Reflexologist applies pressure with the thumbs and fingers to reflex points in the hands and feet, affecting a corresponding reflex response in the related areas of the body. This helps the body to retain its natural state of balance, homeostasis. A Reflexology treatment is extremely relaxing and enjoyable and has a profound effect upon the body. |
Your treatment
A Reflexology Treatment begins with pampering your feet in a warm, soothing foot bath whilst the practitioner takes a detailed client case history to develop your personalised treatment strategy.
Whilst laying in a comfortable position the client will enjoy the relaxing techniques of kneading and stretching to the feet. This is followed by a stimulating thumb and finger massage palpation over the entire surface of the feet provoking a state of complete tranquility

Cupping Therapy
Similarly, to acupuncture and herbal medicine, cupping is part of 2,500-year-old science of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Cupping is in some aspects similar to a deep tissue massage. Glass or Pyrex cups are applied using a suction method to soft tissue areas.
Cupping is in some aspects similar to a deep tissue massage. Glass or Pyrex cups are applied using a suction method to soft tissue areas.
The practitioner applies heat in a glass cup and then applies that cup to the body, most commonly on the back. The heat creates a painless vacuum effect and draws the skin up into the cup. The suction helps to stretch and release the muscles, increases blood circulation, and helps stimulate the release of toxins. It is also may be helpful, in lessening, the effects of cellulite.
Why Cupping? |
Most commonly, people use cupping for aches and pains. This includes low back and leg pain, neck and shoulder tension, toxins, fibromyalgia, and any menstrual or digestive problems. Additionally, it also helps open up the chest and benefits the lungs to help treat respiratory problems such as cough, bronchitis, asthma, and the like.
Moxibustion
Moxibustion involves burning the herb moxa and applying the resulting heat to specific points in the body.
Moxa is herbal wool made from the leaves of the Mugwort plant. The radiant heat produced by moxibustion penetrates deeply into the body to restore balance, promote circulation, and reduce pain. This form of treatment, usually combined with acupuncture. Speak to your Practitioner about Moxibustion and see if this is the right treatment for you.
